In 2014, the daily production of crude oil by OPEC countries stood at some 36.6 million barrels. Saudi Arabia is by far the largest crude oil producer among OPEC members, responsible for more than 9.7 million barrels per day in 2014 and before we get theoretical, let's first consider how much oil you use. If you're in the United States, that figure is approximately 2.5 gallons of crude oil per day; roughly one barrel every seventeen days; or nearly 22 barrels per year.
